Basic shoemaking course

This class is an Introductory level course for new comers in leather crafting that is designed to give participants a simple, comprehensive foundation and fun experience in making shoes. Once you have a basic understanding of the principles, techniques and materials of shoe design and construction, you are only limited by your imagination.

You will learn how to start from scratch how to design the patterns and create all the individual pieces for your shoes. We always advise our students to learn how to do every aspect for themselves if they ever hope to go forward when they are on their own. At the end of this workshop, you will make minimum of 3 pairs of solid and fashionable shoes for your own feet or for sale.

All materials to make your first pair of shoes will be supplied while specialise materials and leathers can be sourced at your request: prices on application. It is important that you learn the simple basics of all footwear construction, before attempting to make complicated patterns and styles requiring highly specialised structural components. During the workshop we will show you how to apply this basic knowledge to high heels, boots, sandals, etc.
