Basic bag making course
The brand new Leather Satchel Course will teach you how to prepare, make and hand stitch a lightweight, vegetable tanned, leather satchel in just two days! Similar in style to the traditional school satchel you’ll make a bag which is designed to carry your tablet as well as some other essentials. You will be working from a choice of pre-prepared patterns, although you’ll also be encouraged to incorporate some of your own design details into your work.
While you are in the workshop, you will learn how to cut leather, prepare, assemble and hand stitch together your satchel with traditional, waxed linen thread. You will also cut and fit adjustable straps, an exterior pocket and learn how to create beautifully finished cut-edged seams. With the support of two professional tutors, a small group of just six students and all the encouragement you’ll need, you will not only leave the course with your two-tone leather satchel fully completed, you will also leave with an enormous sense of achievement!
